This oval shaped piece of amber was originally polished by one of our workers in Myitkyina, Kachin State, after recently emerging from an amber mine. The piece of amber contains a small orange mite in the corner of it, and even though the amber can be worn by the neck it is of significant entomological interest due to the age of this ancient tree resin, which of course is now fossilized into Burmite amber from our famed Hukawng Valley.
