Not insect inclusions are born same way; oftentimes the insect is dead or partially dead and decomposed before, by way of decomposition in an ancient forest, end up at the bottom of a huge pool of resin, to later be entombed.
This particular insect was caught flying inside the amber, with its wings and body in very good shape. The insect was likely very quickly engulfed in the amber from head to toe, thus guaranteeing immaculate preservation over the course of 100 million years.
