This is a large long-legged mosquito from 100 million years (Cretaceous) trapped inside of a piece of amber mined in our Kachin State, Northern Myanmar.
This piece is a very large and irregular mosquito to be finding in the amber with such pristine features preserved so perfectly inside; like a perfect painting. The length of the mosquito itself is about 1 centimetre.
