Description

This is a unique piece of amber with numerous inclusions found within it: several insects and also a paleogas vesicle (void) created by entrapment during formation of the amber.

Paleogas is gas trapped in amber and it is ancient gas. This can help to study the ancient atmosphere which is not well studied or understood. Amber biocenosis is where the amber entrapment can contain ancient organisms also and should be studied further. The gas can be paleoenvironmental as indicator of the environment to help reconstruct past ecosystem of understanding in the Hukawng Valley 99-100 million years ago.

Numerous insect inclusions are in this piece but only one is photographed under deeper magnification.
