Cretaceous Burmite Amber With Rare Scorpion Inclusion | SC-021-25
$100.00 $80.00
Description
This exceptional Cretaceous amber specimen contains the unmistakable remains of a true scorpion, one of the most sought-after inclusion types in Burmese amber. Scorpions from the Late Cretaceous are uncommon, frequently fragmented, and highly valued by both researchers and collectors due to their rarity, morphology, and phylogenetic significance.
This specimen features a clearly preserved mesosoma (abdomen), visible sternite segmentation, parts of the prosoma, and multiple identifiable appendages. Under magnification, the alternating abdominal plates and sclerotized structures are visible, as well as partial pedipalps and associated leg fragments.
The amber itself is a substantial freeform plate weighing over 33 carats, with a good viewing window and a naturally dramatic two-tone coloration resulting from resin flow and partial carbonization at the edges—enhancing contrast around the inclusion. Such visual framing is highly desirable for display and photography.
