This specimen features an exquisitely preserved Mecopteran insect from the extinct family Pseudopolycentropodidae, enclosed in mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber from the Hukawng Valley of Myanmar. These stem-group scorpionfly relatives are known for their elongated rostrum, slender legs, and finely reticulated wings. Your specimen displays beautifully preserved wing venation, a fully visible rostrum, detailed thoracic segmentation, and an intact abdomen. The wings show the distinctive elongate triangular shape typical of this family, with clear longitudinal veins and crossveins highlighted by the clarity of the amber.
