Description

Immaculately Preserved Claws of a rare vertebrate inside Cretacous Burmite amber

The claws are curved and sharply pointed, indicating a possible adaptation for grasping or clinging. They appear to be covered in a fine layer of keratin or a keratin-like substance. Look closely and you can see the claws in this specimen are attached to fine ligaments and skin and bone.
