Description
The morphological characteristics of this Burmite inclusion exhibit elongated ovular structures resembling membranous features, which are common with embryonic remnants. The coloration and opacity of the inclusions vary. This is most likely due to our lab’s analysis of oxidation and resin infiltration during fossilization. Under magnification these inclusions appear to be embryonal; with segmented areas which can be seen with arthopods such as insects or crustaceans. There is no distinct venation which leads the team to surmise this is not angiosperm seed pods; but rather a more likely crustacean cluster of embryos.
