Burmite is among the oldest and most scientifically significant ambers in the world, originating from the mid-Cretaceous period (~99–100 million years ago). These specimens were unearthed in the Hukawng Valley, a renowned paleontological site known for hosting exceptionally preserved extinct life forms, including insects, arachnids, and plant matter.
