$1,200.00 $999.00

Description

This exceptional specimen captures a high-detail “snapshot” of a Cretaceous predator. Preserved in a large, high-clarity cabochon of golden Burmite amber, the centipede is accompanied by a small fly, providing a compelling look at the ancient forest floor ecosystem.

  • Primary Inclusion: A complete and articulated centipede. The specimen displays a long, segmented trunk with a distinct set of legs for each segment.

  • Anatomical Details: The close-up view reveals long, multi-segmented antennae and a pair of elongated, spiny “ultimate legs” at the posterior, which were used for both sensory and defensive purposes.

  • Syn-Inclusion: A small fly (Diptera) is preserved in the upper quadrant of the amber, adding ecological context and value to the piece.
